A book club meeting agenda you can reuse
A ninety-minute book club meeting agenda that leaves room for the book and still ends with the next date confirmed.
A ninety-minute meeting
The shape
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| 15 min | Arrive and talk about anything. Do not fight this. |
| 10 min | One sentence from each person on how the book landed. |
| 40 min | Open one question and follow it wherever it goes. |
| 15 min | Passages people marked, then what changed during the hour. |
| 10 min | Next book, next date, next host. |
If you only have an hour
Cut the arrival window and the passage round, not the long thread. A meeting with ten minutes of real conversation is worse than one that starts late.
Who runs it
One person opens, watches who has not spoken, and calls time on the last section. It is not a lecture. Rotate the role so the same member is not always half-working.
Before anyone leaves
Confirm the title and edition, the date, and the spoiler rule. Send it in writing the same evening while people still remember agreeing to it.
